Thing #2

Molly was rocking her Seuss this morning.

She has officially discovered her hands, and they are her favorite things.

Starting to fall over... quick reflexes girl, she threw her hand down to catch herself but.....

It's not quite strong enough to hold her up yet. Still good for sucking on though!  Check out that double chin!!

Happy Father's Day Papa Martin (Go M's!)

We had a blast taking Woody to an M's game at Safeco as an early father's day gift (he'll be back in Maine for the real thing!).  It was Molly's first game too.  They gave her a certificate.

Also, seeing we had a wee one, and the game wasn't sold out, the super nice usher on the suite level let us have a free upgrade: our bleacher tickets were now suite level. Sweet!

We spent the afternoon watching the M's beat the twins (very fun and exciting game!), eating hot dogs and popcorn and having a good time!

We caught the ferry to the game.

Arriving in Seattle-- wearing her sun hat from Nana Martin (this one is from Pike Place)

Go Ichiro!

Molly started snoozing once she realized we had the game in the bag.

Woody asked who Dave Niehaus was, so of course I launched into my best impression of Grand Salami.

Woody, maybe this will give you more of an idea:

Happy Father's Day!

Mamas

I headed up to Seattle to meet with some clients today. Molly hung out with her Cuz D, Auntie and Memaw for the afternoon and couldn't have been happier. Or sleepier.  It was a beautiful day, and Molly, Sara, Cuz D and I relaxed on a blanket in the sunshine for a bit before I had to leave.  It is supposed to be close to 80 on Sunday-- I'm looking forward to heading out to Madronita for mother's day-- and feeling pretty blessed that Molly has so many wonderful mama's in her life: Memaw and Nana, Auntie S & J (And Q & K ;), Her wonderful god-mother Kristin, and great-godmother Marcey, and all of my special aunties (Tracy, Michelle, Loni, Sandra, Auntie D, Cheryl, Courtney, Patricia), and her other special cousins (Stacy, Steph, Lynette, Megan, Krissy), and our many many mama friends who have been so wonderful to us over the past year through my pregnancy and these first month's of Molly's life.  Ok, I know at this point I have left people out-- I shouldn't have started naming names! But, what I'm getting at, is that Molly is one lucky little bean to have such a wonderful network of wonderful, strong, and beautiful women in her great big family.

We love you all and hope you all have a wonderful mother's day.
You mean the world to me (and Molly too, even though she might not know it yet).

Book Report

Woody brought bundles of presents up from Tucson with him-- including about a hundred adorable outfits AND the most beautiful book: On the Night You Were Born by Nancy Tillman

"On the night you were born, the moon smiled with such wonder that the stars peeked in to see you and the night wind whispered "Life will never be the same." Because there had never been anyone like you... ever in the world. Heaven blew every trumpet and played every horn on the wonderful, marvelous night you were born."

The pictures are absolutely beautiful.  AND it came with this snuggly polar bear.  Which Molly adores.

In other news, Molly is ready for the beach after opening another package from Nana and Papa Martin.

She's ready to go in her slides and Whale of a Time sun hat.  Can't wait for her to put them to real use when we head over to sunny Eastern Washington for a lake trip next month.

Cinco De Mayo! (Happy 60th Laura P!)

Molly partied down on the dance floor for the first time this Saturday night at Laura Partridge's 60th birthday at "The Space" in Tacoma.  We had a blast eating tasty Mexican food and visiting with friends and family.

Cousins celebrating cinco!

Dani is...

over it! (but still pretty cute!)

Sara and Dani girl.  Molly had planned on wearing a matching outfit, but nature had other plans, and the white dress didn't end up being in the cards for the evening's attire.

Photo booths are always fun! Our first family photo.  Of course Molly is zzzz's

Papa Martin Comes to Visit

Papa Martin arrived last Thursday from Tucson to meet Molly before he and Nana depart to drive back across the country from Tucson to Maine.  Molly took to her Papa immediately.

It was a long weekend of snuggle time!
