We headed up the street on Monday for Lil Veda's second birthday party.
Happy Birthday Veda!
All the neighborhood kiddos were there. Molly mostly snoozed in her car seat while wonderful birthday madness reigned around us (complete with the fishing pole game-- one of my favorites as a kid).
When Molly did come out of her car seat, I realized that Ryan, who had very sweetly helped me get Molly ready before we headed out the door, had accidentally put her outfit (an adorable one from Veda's mama Chelsie) on backward, so we just stayed wrapped up in our favorite blanket from Auntie J.
A post about our backward party-going on Facebook helped determined that Ryan is certainly not the only daddy to ever make this snafu (and several posts from fellow mommies said I'd better watch out, a few more weeks of sleep deprivation and I might be putting my own shirts on backward!)
In other news, we were off to our 2 week doc appointment this afternoon where we found out Molly has gained back her birth weight and then some! (She is currently at 8 lb 5 oz from her birth weight of 8.1). This was a big gain, as just last Tuesday she was at 7lb 11oz (lil ones usually drop a half pound or so in the first week after birth as they adjust to their new feeding methods). However, it doesn't surprise me, as she's been nursing like a Tonka Truck lately. I'll have to check my notes, but I believe her height wasn't much bigger, perhaps just a tad, so I am guessing it was because of her girth that we found one of her newbie outfits didn't fit this morning (sad, it was one of my favorites, a little strawberry pj set from Grandma Squeak and Aunt Sandra-- though she did get some good wear out of it first!).
In other doc related news-- Molly's umbilical cord fell off, which means she is officially "bathe-able." We're thinking we might try her out in her little tub this evening. Stay posted for pics (she has an absolutely Uh-Dore-Able duckie baby robe from Nana Martin that she is fond of lounging in after her sponge baths, so I have a feeling she will really put it to use this evening after her all-over sudsing.
